It’s Friday, so I thought it would be a great time to do another giveaway. I am SO excited to be able to give one reader their own customized Road ID! Road IDwas kind enough to provide me with an e-certificate to give to the winner so that he/she can choose his/her own Road ID. To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment below telling me which Road ID you would choose (wrist, ankle, shoe pouch, etc.).
I am a very strong proponent of wearing (or carrying) ID with you whenever and wherever you exercise. You don’t have to look far to find stories of people who have had medical emergencies while exercising and were unable to be identified by emergency personnel. Although I have had my Road ID for quite awhile, I was unaware of all of the different types of IDs they offer! I have the Wrist ID sport (see picture below), but there are a bunch of other options including the ankle ID, shoe ID, Fixx ID, and even a shoe pouch ID.
The Road IDs come in a variety of different colors and can be customized with up to 6 lines of text, giving you ample room to enter any pertinent medical information and emergency contact information. I wear mine when I am outside running AND when I am working out in the gym. As a parent, I am now even more conscious about making sure that I am being responsible and safe– the Road ID helps me do this while exercising.

This sweepstakes starts on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 7:30 a.m. and will go to Friday, January 13, 2012 at 7:30a.m. The winner will be chosen using Random.org, and the results will be posted on this blog. Winner will be announced by Monday, January 16, 2012 at 7:30 a.m. A winner has one week from the announcement of the winner to claim the prize or else a new winner will be chosen (January 23 at 7:30 a.m.). All prizes will be awarded. Thus, if the winner does not come forward, a new winner will be chosen. The writer of this blog will not be held liable for any typographical errors or technical failures.

I’m embarrassed to say I do not have a road ID but I agree that it’s really important! I would love a wrist ID. If I’m not the winner, I promise to finally purchase one.
I just ordered a road id for Christmas and it is supposed to arrive today; I’m so excited! I got the wrist id slim. I liked that I could order a few extra wristbands in different colors for only $1 each.

These are great! I think they’d be good for kids to wear too, in case they were to wander off or get separated from their parents in a crowd or something.

A great idea for anyone who leaves the house to train and workout. I always keep ICE (in case of emergency) listed in my cell as well since that is always with me.
