Recently I was given the opportunity to review the new Michelob ULTRA Light Cider. I have always loved hard cider, so I was very intrigued by a “light” cider beer.
Michelob ULTRA Light Cider is naturally sweetened with hand-picked apples and being a cider beer, is naturally gluten free. Having a close friend with celiac disease, I know that finding a beer substitute that is gluten free is not always easy. It’s nice that a light cider beer is an option for the hot summer weather coming our way. You can enjoy it over ice or straight up (like me!).
After purchasing my six-pack of Michelob ULTRA Light Cider, I returned home and promptly parked myself in one of my Adirondack chairs. I enjoyed the crisp apple taste, and like a beer, a hard cider is just as refreshing on a hot day! After a very sweaty five mile run a few days later, the cider hit the spot perfectly.
As far as its nutritional value goes, Michelob ULTRA Light Cider has 120 calories, a third fewer than a traditional hard cider. I am not a calorie counter, but that’s not to say I don’t appreciate a lighter version of an alcoholic beverage!
If you are interested in trying out Michelob ULTRA Light Cider, it is available nationwide (excluding CO, UT, WY and OK) and is available in six-packs of 12-ounce clear glass bottles. Visit Michelob’s site here and be sure to check out the Michelob ULTRA Light Cider page on BlogHer.com.
