And the Vibram Five Fingers Have Arrived…

I admit, I used to make fun of people wearing Vibram Five Fingers. Now I will be wearing a  pair of KSOs. My funny looking little shoes arrived last night on the UPS truck, and I tore into them like a little kid at Christmas.

I had seen pictures of them, but I couldn’t wait to get them out of the box to see what they actually felt like. Although I ordered them online, I had been fitted in a store. Vibram sizes are European and a good fit is VERY important, so make sure you get fitted before you order online.

I had an Amazon gift card to use, so I was a little limited in the color selection available in my size, so I got a pair that are agate, grey, camouflage. It wasn’t my first color choice, but in a size 39 I was a little limited. I can safely say I like them a lot better now that I can see them in person.

I figure if I am going to wear crazy looking shoes, I might as well wear them with color! I slid them on the first time, and it did feel a little weird. It’s like being barefoot, but not really. Not a great description, but if you try on a pair you will see what I am talking about. Winking smile

Since I don’t really like wearing shoes when I don’t have to, I think the Vibram Five Fingers will make a nice little addition to my growing running shoe collection. I am going to try them out this morning and see what they feel like on the run.

I don’t think it should be too much of a shock since I have been running in my Merrell Pace Gloves for the past few weeks (zero drop but a small amount of arch support). I think the biggest difference will be the zero arch support. I am anxious to wear them for a bit, so I can share my impressions with you guys!

Last night I got to go to a fabulous little meet up at Lululemon Providence, and I will post about it tomorrow. Smile

  1. I can’t wait to hear what you have to say about them. I’ve seen other people running in them, I just don’t know if I could do the zero arch support.

They rock. I have horribly high arches and was afraid of that too. But my feet have gotten so strong that now I don’t need arch support in any shoe.

  3. How exciting! I’m curious to hear what you think… I still haven’t tried them either.
